Everyone loves Oak and there's good reason.  It's beautiful, heavy and strong.  Unfortunately a lot of Oak is imported into the UK when we have tones of the stuff ourselves! French and American Oak which is the most common is often very uniform so good for commercial operations, but we've got great stuff here.  Look out for Pippy and Burl oak which is crazy nice, gothic like (to me anyway).

Oak trees are good to use and they're actually one of the most dominant species of the planet, the can live to over 1,000 years, the oldest in California is over 13,000  years old!!

Due to their proliferation eco wise they're a good woos to use, but please try to buy local to support local woodland and cut down on transportation costs.
